Hot Interview Tips, Help You Score A Job!
Everybody and their momma want to have a successful interview. We want to be the designated winner of a particular position. You can implement these 5 interview tips and guarantee success with virtually any interview! Sound to good to be true, it is. Now you know success with anything doesn’t happen by chance, so be warned.
Fortunately these tips we are about to cover require a certain understanding and practice that anyone can achieve. Unfortunately, most people won’t do even a little work in order for them to be declared the winner. Okay.
So, let’s say you get to first base. You’re invited in for an interview. Now what? Don’t take it for granted or you will be singing a sad song.
So here are 5 tips practices to transform an interview session in a exciting popcorn eating, wide screen projection interview.
1. Don’t take off rattling off your entire work history when asked, “Please tell me about yourself”. Why? I’m glad you asked. If by chance you are a person who loves talking about yourself, you will say to much. Most of which will be irrelevant. You will get ejected from the interview process. Remember the interviewer can read your resume.
2. Make their eyes sparkle. Talk to the interviewer about their goals and needs for the organization. If you have done your homework you will have already done your homework and can ask intelligent questions and converse on your findings. Oh, if you are aware of an internal problem that you know of, let them bring it up first. Unless it is something that would impact your decision to take a position, let that question, stay in the field.
3. Employers only want several things from you at this point in the game, and it’s not a dance. They want to know, what you can do for them, and how you will do it better. Also, will hiring you help the bottom line (make them more money)? Now that you know this, know how to answer this question.
4. Show them the money! Provide examples that demonstrate you know how to help their bottom line and solve the kind of problems they are facing. This is where you can throw a speed ball by talking about your past work experience and how you can move the company forward. Honestly there is little interest in the past only as it relates to the future.
5. Pictures speak louder than words. I always loved when candidates brought a portfolio. Most people think it’s an outdated tool. It isn’t. Show some of your best work, when you can. Include samples, mock-ups, letter of recommendations, testimonies from clients, etc. The icing on the cake is when you quantify your success by showing increases in money, decreases in accidents, dollars acquired, product improvement results, etc. Now that’s hot. Just make sure it’s your work.
Follow these proven interview tips, and you’ll be slamming a home run. You’ll look like and sound like a winner and take the competition out at first base. They will hear, “You’re Out!”
