How To Interview At A Job Fair (Part 1)

If you’re looking for a job, no doubt you’ve encountered the Job Fair Interview. Everyone isn’t interviewed formally, but everyone is interviewed. While everyone is waiting in line to put their resume into the hands of the most popular company, you scope out the other companies in your program.

I hope that you’ve already pre-selected the companies you want to investigate before you got there. Don’t run through the venue like an untrained child let loose at Christmas time in the toy section. Some people determine their success on how many resumes they passed out, or how much literature they collected from the companies present. STOP….. Go by the company tables and engage the recruiters in meaningful conversation. Understand you are being silently interviewed the moment you come to the table. How you look, what you say, what you ask is being assessed. If you are lucky to have a meaningful conversation and the recruiter is writing down information, and giving you information, guess what… you are being interviewed.
