How about come in with a smile, and bring an ink pen. I can believe all the people who over my 15+ years of hiring people come in to fill out a job application & the first thing is they don’t bring in an ink pen. Prospective employees will show up & ask “Are you hiring” The better ? is are you taking applications or in my career field accepting resume’s? To many times I have said Yes we are taking apps & they ask for an ink pen or Phone book to look up info on their prior employers. You should>
be prepared if you are looking for work. A guy once called me back & asked why he didn’t get the job. I told him that I didn’t think he would be ready to work everyday when he showed up. He asked why. I asked him did he “expect” to fill out a paper job app when he came in and he said “yes” I said what do you need to complete that ? An ink pen, your work history written on paper, personal reference contact info. It amazes me how many people would not even know their own telephone number.
thank you!!
thanks!
I’ll remeber that in my interview today!
thanks
Great tips I’d say.
